Oh yeah, that’s me! Why am I the Workout Queen? Glad you asked. Not only did I make it to the exercise class at the Gravel Pit this morning, but I stayed for the yoga class, too! I think I strained my arm patting myself on the back, though.
Seriously, it has been so long since I attended a group workout session. My arms and legs did not know how to work together, and I was by far the least coordinated person there. It was sad. But I pushed through, and just tried to do what I could. Maxine, the instructor, was hard core. She is probably in her 60’s, but clearly powerlifts. She was so muscular, and she ran the class while using wrist weights, and wearing shoes that looked like army boots. She had so much enthusiasm, and there were more people in attendance than I expected. This was everyone mingling before class:
When we come back in February, I will join every MWF that I can. She played some great 70’s and 80’s music! About a third of the class stayed for yoga. It was a little cold and breezy, which I didn’t feel so much during exercise, but during yoga I was shivering.
I tried to sneak in a picture of the yoga class, but I got busted:
The clouds blew away and the day became warm and sunny – we were 100% charged for most of the day.
Oh, while I was off at the Gravel Pit gym, David was doing his thing, which ended up being a 1.5 hr hike. He decided to try a different path to avoid the standing water from yesterday’s rain, and ended up going a little longer than intended. But that is the way it goes sometimes when you wander.
David worked outside all day, on a project that I am sure he will write about since he took pictures. It has to do with our portable propane heater and the propane tank that fuels it.
Hannah lounged around in the morning, and the early afternoon, and popped to life in the late afternoon when I started asking questions about her upcoming trip. You know, “Can you use your blow dryer in Sunderland?” “Do you have an plug adapter?” etc.
And so it is tomorrow that after finishing her dental appointment in Los Algodones, we will then be visiting Best Buy, and Walmart in Yuma to get supplies not only for her trip abroad, but also for our trip to Quartzsite. We plan to relocate to “Q” on Wednesday. I’ll tell you more about that later.
Amazon Prime provided tonight’s entertainment, “Troll Hunter”. It was like Friday night SyFy tv all over again. That means David and Hannah watched tv, and I worked on something on the computer. I will say that the Amazon Fire TV Stick that I purchased is pretty amazing. It plugs into a HDMI port on the tv, and using the wifi connection to the hot spot on my phone, plays Amazon Prime video in HD beautifully.
I did not get the biscotti made today, and dinner was leftover soup over quinoa. It was just so beautiful outside, and warm inside, that I did not want to heat up the place any more. Instead, I went through the bag of hand-me-downs that Hannah brought for me to pilfer, and I added more than I took, as is the RV’er way. We will drop them at one of the many clothing donation bins in Yuma.
With a big shopping day ahead of me tomorrow, I will bid you an early evening adieu.
I’m glad we could have this chat,
